I tried both.Test 1:NTSC (North American version)The voices in the beginning cutscene didn't sync with the characters, the scene paced too fast for the voices to sync. (I mean it might just be my Disc though, but just so far)Not too laggy, but i still felt some vibesPALReally laggy gameplay.ConclusionNTSC, because 60hz is faster than 50hz.I mean this game looks really good actually. If this game ran on a Xbox 360 then the wonders would really work. I bet it would be really fast and be awesome. It feels like Spyro 3 with better graphics so far. But i like it for what it is, awesome graphicsEdit:Test 2:Actually when i think about it, i couldn't notice much difference between PAL and NTSC in speed, actually it looks like the PAL version is more smoother, while at some place like far distances the NTSC lags more.Last edited by Steinar (Sep 13, 2014 1:19 AM).
Yes, if someone ported it to another, more powerful platform well, it'd probably run much better due to the increase in power. And, yes, the game's graphics are nice (sometimes,) but this plays in with the whole 'horrible framerate' problem.
Personally, I'd like to have my games running at at least 30fps. I'm sure the devs could've optimized the game better, but, you know, time constraints and money. Also, interesting how so many games change between regions in bizarre ways. Like the Japanese Spyro 1. Like the Japanese Spyro 1.Ah so that's the reason why the framerate is so slow. Yeah, its kinda weird to think that region stuff mattered more before.Like what Hz your TV was for example.Last edited by Steinar (Sep 13, 2014 1:21 AM). NTSC: 60hz lower frame deliver quality.PAL: 50hz more detailed frames delivered. And it did not make much difference since consoles like the PS1 were kept at 30 fps in MOST games and its funny since most older TV's (CRT type ones) had either a very high or very low refresh rate (30-120 if I remember correctly) BUT one problem even with some monitors/tv's today is that a low refresh rate (30-50) will give you a dam great headache after time since you are practically looking at a flashing image.
